Comprehensive utilization of jute by-products

First, production of pulp and paper

By using a common chemical pulping method and using ramie as a raw material, high-quality pulp can be produced for producing high-quality writing paper and printing paper. The hemp waste in jute processing can be used to produce kraft paper.

Second, the production of hemp paperboard

Corrosion of the stalks was etched with 5% calcium oxide to produce pulp. After the pulp is rinsed and beaten, the long fiber pulp is used as a fabric and pressed on a hand-plate machine for 5 minutes (temperature 60°C) to produce a good strength and toughness hemp paperboard, which can be used to produce various types of cardboard boxes.

Third, the production of artificial resin board

A synthetic resin plate can be made by using a thermosetting resin, such as urea-formaldehyde resin, and casein or a natural resin (eg, nectar) as a binder, and heat-treating the pellets at a proper temperature and pressure.

Fourth, the production of charcoal

Compacting the pellets and high-temperature carbonization can produce high-quality low-cost charcoal. Zinc chloride and phosphoric acid are used as activators. Jute can also produce activated carbon.

Fifth, the production of cellulose

As a raw material for producing a cellulose preparation, a cellulose preparation can be used to produce viscose, cellulose triphosphate, cellulose acetate, carboxymethylcellulose and microcrystalline cellulose.

Sixth, production of chemical drugs

The use of alkaline melting or nitric acid oxidation treatment of the ramie can produce high quality oxalic acid. Furnish can be produced by treating the stalk with sulfuric acid.
